If you liked building models or racing slot-cars
The Decatur Hobby House/Speedway was the placed to be. I remember in there front window displays they had electric train layouts set up.
I spent alot of time here.
Before it was a hobby shop it was a J C Pennys and before that it was The Dekalb Theatre.

My Dad used to take me up to Decatur Speedway on Saturdays - around 1972-1973. I wasn't old enough to drive a real car but I loved racing my slot car(s) there in Decatur. Great memories of my Dad whom I love dearly. Steve Rawlins, Jacksonville Florida 2-04-12
