Root City Market in Decatur Saturday May 2

Root City Market is holding a small pop-up market during the danceDanceDANCE! event happening in downtown Decatur on Saturday, May 2.

danceDanceDANCE! is a free, all-ages participatory dance experience that will include performances by Zoetic Dance Ensemble and others, art installations on neighborhood streetlight poles, and dancing in the streets. It’s happening along four blocks of E. Howard Avenue between Trinity Avenue and the Ice House Lofts. Root City will be at Color Wheel on 508 E. Howard, with goods from local makers including Little Barn Apothecary, The Factory Press, Flordeliza Leather Brand, So Worth Loving, In the Quiet Hours Hand Embroidery, and more.

danceDanceDANCE! is also designed to spark a larger conversation around creating the “Decatur EcoArts District,” a project to promote sustainable development that fosters creative expression (it’s supported by the City of Decatur and the Decatur Arts Alliance).

The market will run from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., while danceDanceDANCE! will last until 10.
