German grocer ALDI plans to open a new store in the Northlake area next year. The new grocery store would take over a portion of the current Best Buy space in Northlake Square shopping center. The Best Buy would reduce their overall square footage, but would remain in the center. Ironically, Best Buy's space was originally a Big Star supermarket.

Best Buy employee indicated no departments will be entirely eliminated,
although there may be a "slight reduction" in car audio, mobile and
appliances departments.
While I have been thus far unable to confirm an exact size, the current Best Buy is 51,250 square feet, providing ample room for an ALDI store.
Many in the Northlake / Tucker area have expressed wishes for a Trader Joe's in the area that an ALDI almost brings to fruition... almost. German brothers Theo and Karl Albrecht owned Trader
Joe's and Aldi. Originally a single grocery store in Germany, the late
Theo subsequently ran Trader Joe's while Karl ran ALDI.
